New workshop: Restorative Yoga meets Thai Yoga Bodywork29/05/2018
Welcome to Restorative Yoga with Thai Yoga Bodywork. Two styles of yoga together are even better together! This class can only be taught in a yoga studio with all the props. Lucky for you, we provide all the cushions, blocks, bolsters, yoga straps, blankets and experienced teacher, Liza. You will leave feeling calm and balanced.
What is Restorative Yoga:
Restorative Yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve a deep level of physical, mental and emotional relaxation with prolonged holding of simple poses on the ground. Gravity does the work for you. The props are placed on your body to help you relax into the shape of the pose. Postures can be held for upto 20 minutes.Very relaxing and meditative. All levels welcome. No experience needed.
What are the Benefits:
Restorative Yoga eliminates fatigue and stress that result from your daily activities. The gentle poses reset the nervous system. Constant practice of restorative yoga can make your body less vulnerable to stress-related illnesses and help you to achieve optimal health. It is a perfect connector for those interested in meditation.
How is Thai Yoga Bodywork incorporated:
Once you’re set up comfortably in a posture, supported by the props, Liza will make her way around the room offering Thai Yoga Massage assists to help you release tension and fall deeper into relaxation. You will experience moments of acupressure and passive stretching as well as moments of rest and stillness in each posture.
Thai Yoga Bodywork has roots in Ayurvedic medicine. It can also be called “Lazy man’s yoga”. Liza will do the work for you in moving your limbs around so that you focus on calming your nervous system.
We offer this special workshop at least once a month on various days and times depending on the availability of the studio space and Liza’s schedule. Please arrive ten minutes early to set up.
What to Wear:
Comfortable clothes and dress in layers so you can stay you warm and cozy. Please bring a sweater and socks to stay warm. Full length pants recommended. There is zero sweating in this class. This is a wonderful opportunity to get stretched and unwind. Sign up soon as class size is limited to 6 students.
